I Wish Regret Burned More Calories

Are you trying to lose weight the Keto way? Does this pandemic have your anxiety levels through the roof? No worries. I’m back with more food and drinks, that will not only help you burn calories but will help ease your anxiety! These food and drinks are scientifically proven as well!

Let’s take a look…

Spinach

Rich in vitamins A, C and K. Also rich in magnesium, iron, and manganese. Eating spinach reduces oxidative stress and blood pressure. The key nutrient is the magnesium which helps calm you. You can also try Collard Greens, Kale, Or Swiss Chard.

Red Wine

*Not for pregnant or nursing women. Consult with doctor if you’re taking any kind of medication.
Resveratrol is a compound which is an anti-inflammatory & anti-oxidant found in red wine. It boosts brain health by reducing stress and naturally calming the body, thereby reducing anxiety levels. Resveratrol also repairs DNA and genes that promote longevity within the body. This in turn helps protect the body from the inside out. This also gives wine its heart healthy label. I recommend no more than two glasses of wine a day!


TIP: All of these foods are Keto friendly except for the *Oatmeal and Wine*.


Oatmeal

*This is a Complex Carb*
This food gets into your system slowly and gives you a consistent flow of energy and boosts serotonin “a feel good chemical” in the brain. Serotonin lifts your mood which reduces anxiety.

Chia Seeds

Its packed with nutrients, anti-oxidants, and is great for bone health, supporting of weight loss, and regulating blood sugar levels. It contains tryptophan which is an amino acid that triggers the release of serotonin “the feel good chemical” in the brain that promotes calmness and sleepiness. It also contains omega 3 fatty acids which boosts brain health and reduces anxiety.

TIP: Chia seeds are heart healthy and an excellent source of fiber.


Chamomile Tea

*Make sure tea doesn’t have caffeine in it.*
It is an antioxidant which contains apigenin which connects to certain receptors in the brain that help decrease anxiety. It also contains flavonoids that help with calming, sleep, and relaxation. It also helps reduce menstrual pain, and slows down osteoporosis.

Avocado

It contains B vitamins, vitamin E, and is a heart healthy fat. Vitamin E is an anti-oxidant that relieves stress which reduces anxiety. B vitamins play a role in producing the “feel good chemicals” in the brain which reduces anxiety. Avocado also plays an important role with vision, reproduction, and maintenance of healthy vibrant looking skin.

TIP: Chamomile tea helps lower blood sugar.


Salmon

Salmon supports heart health, rich in vitamins and minerals, promotes healthy looking skin, promotes healthy vision, helps with neurological repairs, and promotes healthy joints and bones. It contains vitamin D which helps improve the “calming” neurotransmitters in the brain. It also contains omega 3 fatty acids which help reduce inflammation to prevent brain dysfunction. This helps reduce and prevent anxiety. Other fish you could try are Mackerel, trout, and herring.

Probiotic Yogurt

It contains a probiotic called lactobacillus which influences a positive mood, thereby reducing anxiety levels. Loss of lactobacillus in the gut brings on depression and anxiety. The probiotic bacteria in the yogurt links the gut microbiome and mental health. “Healthy gut = Healthy mental state.”

TIP: Salmon helps with cancer prevention and boosts your immune system.


Eggs

It contains zinc, B12 vitamins, omega 3 fatty acids, amino acids, anti-oxidants, anti-inflammatory agents, and healthy fats. It is an immune system booster and brain food. It is a high quality protein that contains amino acids which produce dopamine and serotonin “the feel good chemicals” in the brain which help boost brain health, thereby reducing anxiety.

Chicken

Chicken contains omega 3 fatty acids, vitamins B6, B5, and tryptophan. The vitamin B5 is also known as the “anti-stress vitamin”. Vitamin B5 helps reduce anxiety, depression, and migraines. Tryptophan is an amino acid that helps the brain produce the “feel good” brain chemical serotonin, which affects your mood. Tryptophan also induces sleep and has a calming affect.


TIP: Eggs produce a fat-fighting nutrient called choline, which helps you lose weight.
